Hello Gaylord.

In a word, Yes. Larger ships have been raised (from a shallow depth), and slightly deeper lifts have occurred. The key is to raise the ship in manageable sections.

So we’re proposing to use tried and true methods, but in slightly deeper, more dangerous waters …

Our plan: we will extensively re-survey the wreck in 2008, assemble the financing beginning in September of that year and, in 2009, Raise the Republic. Whatever secrets she has kept securely for 100 years, will be revealed ...

Thanks for this posting, Raising the Republic. I've read and heard you would be lifting the Republic in sections. In my minds eye, I tried to tackle how something like this could be done. The two links you have provided are wonderful and certainly again shows you are on the leading edge in treasure recovery. What a massive undertaking! Thanks for making my Saturday a little more interesting.
