Historic Salvage

Two possibilities exist with respect to possible past salvages of the REPUBLIC: The first would be the possibility of cargo removal during the 39 hours between the time of collision at 5:40 a. m. Saturday, January 23rd, and the time of sinking at 8:07 p. m. Sunday, January 24th. The second possibility of past salvages has a much greater time span - from the time of sinking to the present day.
